E-commerce in China

China goes shopping on the Web talks about the 50 million Chinese doing e-commerce, many through cybercafes. An extract:

Canadian-educated entrepreneur Edward Zeng started the cafe craze in 1996. Hes now focusing on a business-to-business network linking Fortune 500 companies to Chinas cheap and prolific manufacturers.
I feel very confident that we will be one of the leading companies not only in China but also will be the great top players for the future of the global Internet and e-commerce, he said. I have 100,000 suppliers in China, but who cashes all my e-commerce orders through the Internet? Its all those farmers who have only primary school education background.
