Namaste! A few words about me (Rajesh Jain) and the blog.
I am an entrepeneur based in Mumbai, India. I am Founder and Managing Director of Netcore Solutions Pvt Ltd (messaging and security solutions, and mobile data services), and have made a number of investments in various companies as part of my own fund (Emergic Venture Capital). I had earlier set up IndiaWorld, India’s first Internet portal which was launched in 1995, which was acquired by Sify in November 1999 for USD 115 million (then, Rs 499 crore).
More Details
Born in Pune on India’s 20th Independence Day (August 15, 1967). I went to school and college at St. Xaviers in Mumbai. Did my B Tech in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay in 1988, and my M.S. in Electrical Engineering from Columbia University, New York in 1989. I then worked at NYNEX Science and Technology for 2 years before returning to India in 1992.
I launched IndiaWorld in 1995. From its pioneering start, IndiaWorld grew to be one of the largest collection of India-centric websites, comprising Samachar, Khel, Khoj and Bawarchi. The IndiaWorld sites are now part of Sify.com.
A few articles on me: TIME (Asian Edition Cover Story, Interview), Columbia University Engineering News, Newsweek cover story, and a Knowledge@Wharton interview.

I am a software master distributor who has been trying to effectivly introduce our range of a popular world class retail product to the Indian market but have experienced a very unsual lack of interest or support at the traditional reseller level and would be interested to hear your thoughts on new, creative ways to penetrate such a valued market in the future…thanks for your thoughts! hi. just visited Emergic after a long, long time and stumbled on the note about yourself.
Read this bit that you were born on on Aug 15, 1967 and that day being India’s 20th I-Day. Well, India completed 20 years of Independence that day, but if you count Aug 15, 1947 as the first I-Day, then Aug 15, 1967 is India’s 21st I-Day (see table below).
Year I-Day #
1947 1
1948 2
1949 3
1950 4
1951 5
1952 6
1953 7
1954 8
1955 9
1956 10
1957 11
1958 12
1959 13
1960 14
1961 15

The emergic.org site is great, but when I go to Emergic.org from your mytoday.com site, it gives me only plain vanilla HTML content.

In view of your thinking, intellect and resources, I would like to put my plans for benefit of the nation’s prosperity, integrity & unity, for your consideration, feasibility study and necessary action. One such plan is commissioning of BIO (GOBAR+) plants all over India, which will go a long way in generating employment, economy of the rural sector, organic farming, protecting environment, reduce imports, enhance dairy farming……………..Shall await your comments

Hey Rajesh!
Though I’ve bookmarked your blog for some time now, it is only today that I read your profile. It sure is intimidating and honestly it is impressive. The best. I only find one thing missing - your photograph? I want to see how the genius looks? Are you in an obliging mode?

It’s pretty naive for someone so experienced in Internet space. The theme you are using is under creative commons license with attribution. Not sure why you removed the attribution and trying to pass this as your own theme. ..

Happened to meet you during your India world venture when you were trying out Sprint RPG’s data comm solution and Sprint Mail.
Those were the days of BB and IRC - the world’s come a long way since then.
Glad to make this connection again.
I was wondering what happened to you after I left SRIL and Sify took over your venture.

Hi Rajesh,
Do you think India needs a Startup Accelerator like a Y Combinator or a TechStars ?
Is there a strong case for something ( a variant with a slight Indian touch to it ) on these lines in Bangalore ?
I have been thinking of doing a similar kind of an accelerator out of Bangalore
Cheers,
Venugopal

30 precious ghd gift setr // Aug 27, 2010 at 7:36 am
It’s important to use a good quality pair of straighteners when straightening your hair. Otherwise the straighteners may not get hot enough and stay at a constant temperature for long enough to achieve a good result. You can get a pair of precious ghd gift set online from one of the GHD price comparison sites.
Always make sure your flat iron plates are clean, use a soft damp cloth on a cool iron to wipe away any residue. You don’t want to be using dirty straighteners on your clean, shiny hair!Turn on your purple ghd set and let them heat up. When they’re at maximum temperature, a beep will sound and the LED will begin to flash. It takes around 20 seconds for new ghd rare straighteners to reach maximum temperature, depending on the temperature of the room you’re in. Then, to start with, take a portion of hair and run your brush or comb through that section to make sure that all the hair is untangled. Clamp your hair with the straighteners near to the root then run them slowly down towards the end of your hair.
